TAFER HOTELS & RESORTS refers to the collection of hotels and resorts owned in full or in part by the principal founding partner of the Villa Group Resorts. Together Tafer Hotels & Resorts and the Villa Group have enjoyed more than 30 consecutive years providing quality vacation and leisure products to a wide range of clients from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and other countries worldwide. In addition to marketing and selling vacation products, the company encompasses all aspects of hospitality: hotel design and construction, resort management, real estate and concept design as well as tour and travel agent services.
The TAFER brand represents the expertise, tenacity and creativity of both its founding owner and his family as well as the executives who have faithfully contributed to the brand over the many years of its development. The Villa Group and how it all began
TAFER Hotels & Resorts is the consolidation of various assets, including the Villa Group Resorts, as well as many years dedicated to quality, innovation and experiences. The first vacation property acquired by the Villa Group Resorts was in Puerto Vallarta, where TAFER’s owner and his Villa Group partners invested in Villa del Mar and later built Villa del Palmar. The success of the projects in Puerto Vallarta inspired the next venture in Cabo San Lucas where the second Villa del Palmar resort and spa was opened, followed by sister resorts: Villa La Estancia Los Cabos and Villa del Arco Cabo.
The success of Puerto Vallarta as a vacation destination spurred much development in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, which encouraged the partners of the Villa Group to consider building another resort, Villa del Palmar Flamingos, named after the neighborhood that is famous for its golf courses and long stretch of sandy beach. This resorts was shortly followed by the high-end hotel, Villa La Estancia.
It was also during this time, that TAFER’s owner began developing the lakeside boutique resort of Sierra Lago in the Sierra Madre Mountains near Mascota, Jalisco. Starting out just a few cabins at a time, Sierra Lago is now a fully functioning lakeside retreat with two restaurants, sports courts, outdoor heated pool, games room, outdoor chapel and full activities schedule.
The next properties to join the Villa del Palmar brand were Villa del Palmar Cancun (with its Club Caribe vacation ownership program), a TAFER owned resort, and Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loréto, owned by one of the Villa Group’s other partners.
Garza Blanca and Hotel Mousai
Following the success of the Villa Group, TAFER’s owner went on to develop a new brand of resorts, aimed at elite world travelers. Garza Blanca is a luxury 5-Star brand of hotels aimed at families, couples, groups of friends, wedding parties and incentive groups who are seeking exclusive vacation experiences. Beginning on Puerto Vallarta’s south shore, the first Garza Blanca Resort & Spa is located on an 85 acre nature preserve, while the next Garza Blanca Resorts opened in Los Cabos and Riviera Maya in 2017, in addition today we also have Garza Blanca resort and spa Cancun, and Hotel Mousai Cancun for adults only is expected to open by 2024. Taking the theme of exclusivity, cutting-edge design and unique experiences to another level, the Hotel Mousai brand is a groundbreaking 5 Diamond resort for adults only, dedicated to being at the leading edge of vacation experiences and chic hospitality.
