Bioluminescence in Holbox, a wonderful show in Quintana Roo

Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, regularly present all year on the island of Hoblox, however, it becomes more visible when the temperature rises in the water, approximately between March and November.

To enjoy this phenomenon, it´s recommended to attend a tour, since bioluminescence is enjoyed more in environments away from light, expert guides, know the best places to enjoy this wonder of nature.

At the right time, you can descend into the water and touch this phenomenon with your own hands, so we recommend you to wear shoes for this activity and not worry about what you step into the water.

There are different places on the island of Holbox to admire this wonder, but we personally recommend Punta Cocos beach, since here because of the state of the area, the bioluminescence is more remarkable.

Regularly the price for these tours ranges between USD 60 and 90 per person, the rides are done by kayaks, paddle board or water bike.
